Good Day Folks.

The Wolf Project Team is proud to announce that we have finished our latest map Bergen.

The Allies Operation Archery is in full swing and the Axis have been pushed back to a U-boat base on an isolated peninsula near the town of Bergen. The Allies mission is to destroy the transmitter at the base and to stop the Axis feeding information to their deadly “Wolf packs”.

Bergen is compact map by ET standards, its simple, but unique objectives, plus careful designed layout make for fast and furious game play. Bergen has been tested, refined, optimized to provide the best performance on all sizes of system, while still keeping the map detailed and aesthetically pleasing.

Have you increased the Axis spawn time (it was 12 seconds in beta4)?

Ummm, no.
We full appreciate that competition requirements for this map will be quiet different from how its used on public servers, so to that end the map has been designed so a second script could made up to change any aspect of the current map and the way it plays (although any changes to the team doors would require it to be etpro only script).
I will be quite happy to write the new script for any of the main leagues.

Awesome! I was actually considering using a tweaked beta4 in our league, but I guess this would trump :p. Will have to sort out a good standard tourney script :).

No offence, but 12 seconds respawn for the defending team is no good for public servers either. Unless Axis are all total “noobs” this map is going to be FuelDump revisted.

30 seconds is the norm for the defending team, public or comp.

Just to qualify that, 30 seconds is the norm for the defending team, especially on “blow stuff up” maps, cos that’s how long it takes dynamite to blow. With a 12 second respawn time, and the fact that the 2nd Axis spawn is much nearer the final objective than Allied, Allies will have to break into the transmitter area, clear out the defending Axis, plant, and then defend the plant against not 1 but 2 Axis respawns. Unless most of the Axis team are total idiots it should be full-holds everytime.

No worries, were always open to constructive comment, its always very useful when developing a map,… although, next time, it is more useful if you tell us your thoughts before we finish the map. :wink:

Bergen was intended to play different, it’s a lot smaller than most other maps, so less time is spent moving around and more time fighting. This map was designed to be fast playing, spawn times were kept short to promote this.

The spawn times were left unchanged because in testing we found the allies very rarely had a problem winning the match, in fact most of the map changes since the first beta have been indented to try to slow the allies down and give the axis more of a chance.
