Best way to build credits for cobalt loadout

(Major_Slapnuts) #1

Ok. so I have all the mercs and I have ranked, or at least good bronze load outs for all of the mercs. I am building money and I have $220,000.

At his point what is the smart move to build credits for cobalt load outs?

Do I buy a complete bronze loadout for $100,000 and recycle them?

or do I buy 100 bottom level cases for $100,000 and see what happens?

Has anyone done that? did the probability system work out? If you buy 100 cases, you should get 2 silver loadouts. Does it work out like that?

" Does it work out like that? "

nope

They’re probabilities, so no guarantees, but on average that’s what you’ll get.
I’m too lazy to do the math, but you should be able to figure out wether the expected value of 100 cases is higher or lower than a full set of bronzes.

I just did the math and the probability is you will get 2 silver loadout cards, so recycling them will get you 1080, just for those 2 cards. That’s almost as much as the recycling all of the bronze loadouts.

Even if it doesn’t work out it feels like a no-brainer to buy 100 cases with $100,000.

If you want to maximize fragment gain from credits, you want to buy equipment cases and recycle everything that comes out of them.
It is under no circumstance better to buy bronzes from the store and to recycle those.

1 bronze from the store gives you flat 0.0077142 fragments per credit(fpc).
1 equipment case gives you at least 0.015 fpc, assuming you would only get leads out of them, which isn’t the case.

For the last 480 cases, I’ve averaged 101.83 fragments per equipment case (that’s 0.10183 fpc) but that includes 2 cobalts I got from the cases.
Excluding those two cobalts, I still would’ve gotten 47.86 fragments per equipment case (0.047 fpc) which is still 6.2 times better than just buying bronzes from the store.

tl;dr buy equipment cases for fragments/cobalts.

So i just did 20 cases and got 18 lead (270 credits) and 2 iron (90 credits). I’m going to do 100 to see what happens.

Forgive the multiple posts, I have only made 15 posts and I have to get my post approved, so I can’t see them yet.

The advertised probability

Lead 66.9%
Iron 22%
Bronze 7.5%
Silver 2%

After 50 boxes opened my actual probability

Lead 82%
Iron 14%
Bronze1%
Silver 1%

(light_sh4v0r) #8

How did you get 1% bronze and silver from 50 boxes?
It doesn’t add up, I think you meant 2% for each.

(Major_Slapnuts) #9

I opened 100 boxes and here is what I got
78 lead
15 Iron
5 Bronze
2 Silver

those will translate straight to percentages.

The advertised probability

Lead 66.9%
Iron 22%
Bronze 7.5%
Silver 2%

my probability
Lead 78%
Iron 15%
Bronze 5%
Silver 2%

it should have been 2% you are correct!

So you got fairly unlucky there. How many fragments did this earn you?
Should still be much more than what a full set of bronzes would be worth right?

(Major_Slapnuts) #12

It was not even close.

buying a Nader loadout pack for $100,000 will get you 9 bronze load outs. That can be recycled for 1,215.

buying 100 cases for $100,000 got me 100 load outs that can be recycled for 3,600.

(Major_Slapnuts) #13

Just did another 100 cases.

77 lead (1,555)
18 Iron (810)
4 Bronze (540)
1 Silver (540)

With 200 cases opened

The advertised probability

Lead 66.9%
Iron 22%
Bronze 7.5%
Silver 2%

my probability
Lead 77.5%
Iron 16.5%
Bronze 4.5%
Silver 1.5%

Ok, so the case drop have been going really well since ranked started back up. I believe out of 10 drops I got 2 or 3 bronze and a silver.

It feels like the upped the pay off chances.

Does any have 100,000 to waste buying 100 cases and report what you received?

I ended up spending all of my money on a couple of cobalt cards. I got the weapon I wanted both times!

My last 518 cases:

Nice, you got lucky
