Kira and Japanese

(Anty_al-Tikriti) #1

Hallo… ? Oh, it’s you.

People who play Dirty Bomb love complaining. I’m no exception, which is why I’d like to take a moment to complain about Kira’s incorrect usage of Japanese.

When Kira is healed or rearmed, she sometimes says “arigatou gozaimasu.” This is not completely correct usage. In Japanese, when thanking somebody for something that has already happened (even if it only happened one second ago), the past tense is used rather than the present/future tense. Therefore she should say “arigatou gozaima****a” instead.

I hope and pray that this extremely minor error is soon corrected.

Auf wiedersehn!

Alas, I have mistakenly committed an error for which I am sincerely sorry.
I did not take into account the fact that your forum might have a completely stupid censorship policy that destroys the very words that I am trying to convey to you.

Let us try this again.

Kira sometimes says “arigatou gozaimasu”. She should instead say “arigatou gozaima****a”.

Does this work?

No, this does not work.

Kira should say “arigatou gozaimash1ta”

1=i.

xD
Love your perseverance :tongue:

Ah, you mean she should say ありがとうございました。

In my experience in daily life in Japan this is however considered too formal, for example at a conbini (convenience store) the staff will often just say ありがとうございます / arigatou gozaimasu in the present tense.
