Ranked Season 1 Update - Bug Megathread

Hey all!

With every new update there are often a number of unforeseen issues that sneak in. To address these as quickly as possible, we’re creating a single Bug Megathread so you can let us know when you run into them. This way, you’ll have a much greater chance of having them seen by our QA team than by creating a new thread (we only have so much time for bug-thread hunting!)

Before you make a post please do a quick check to see if anyone else has reported the issue you have experienced. If so, simply up-vote their comment and we’ll know the severity of issues.


Format bug reports: When putting a bug into the comments below make sure that you give us as much information as you can. If you can remember any of the events leading up to the issue it can help us find the cause quicker.

Type of Bug: Menu layout
Description: XP info does not fit under merc pics in Profile > Overview in 16:9 aspect ratio

Steps to reproduce: Access Profile > Overview with aspect ration 16:0 resolution 1280 x 720 or 1600 x 900
Result: “XP” text falling outside of merc picture frame
Expected result: All stat info should fit within the frame
Reproduction rate: 10/10

Also, not a bug per say, but on this new layout the kill info is all but unreadable for me. I suffer from daltonism so I can’t say if that readability issue is specific to that form of color blindness (maybe Faraleth could pitch in since he apparently also suffer from some sort of color deficiency), but for me that red is OK over a flat color like for the weapon stats, but useless over many of the merc picture backgrounds. It’s also giving me a lot of trouble in the lobby chat box (basically can’t read the names of people who are on the other team).

Type of Bug: Gameplay
Description: Proxy mine now has a huge delay before she drops the mine. Based on the mine placement, i think, that delay is between Button pressed and start of mine drop command execution. I.e. mine drops like i pressed the button later than i actually did.

Steps to reproduce: Just drop a mine midfight. Especially while moving.
Result: The mine drops 200-300 milisecinds later than it should
Expected result: The mine should drop without any aditional delay
Reproduction rate: 90%

Type of Bug: Backend
Description: Ranked servers are crashing at the end of the match.

Steps to reproduce: Play ranked?
Result: I’ve got a won BUT the match was not counted as placement match so after 7 rankeds I need to play 5 more due to 2 server crashes so 12 placement matches.
Expected result: No server crashes
Reproduction rate: 28%

Even if a guy is looking at the defuse, defusing is not showing,

Step to reproduce : everytime I play, we discussed it on game, so it isnt just me… glad you introduce that step, but please please please… do it properly

Type of Bug: HUD
Description: Team overlay on the top of the screen is not sync properly with a real game/scoreboard in the MM. Ive played yesterday and we had 2 eng, 2 meds and 1sky. New team overlay (from execution) was showing 3 meds, 1 eng and 1 sky.

Result: confusing as hell
Expected result: Team overview need to be synced in a proper way to selected mercs

Type of Bug: HUD
Description: Player health bars not visible on spectator/play mode

Steps to reproduce: Go to spectator mode.
Result: I have no idea why someone hide the most usefull widget in the game, I just can’t believe it’s true. I’m very upset now because it’s insanely confusing to cast and watch games, to get information about player mercs, we need to take a look at scoreboard…
Expected result: #BringBackHealthbars

Type of Bug: Game Visuals
Description: Gun model locked in awkward position - occurs when spectating other players and can’t be cleared by seemingly any combination of ADS clicking, gun swapping etc, didn’t reset after respawn so had to quit out of dirty bomb altogether to get rid of it as it was still present when rejoining another server

Steps to reproduce: some weird coincidence of ADS’ing with mouse2 and firing with mouse1
Result: as shown in picture
Expected result: normal gun model ?
Reproduction rate: only happened once so far, still happened after respawn

Description: Message pops up in white lettering about a sound file (proxy.exertion.something)
Video / Screenshot: don’t have one currently
Steps to reproduce: happens quite regulary during normal play
Result: white text
Expected result: no white text
Reproduction rate: regularly during normal play

Weapon lock is still present.

Type of Bug: Gameplay
Description: Weapon cannot be fired anymore. However, it can be fixed by changing the weapon.

Steps to reproduce: unknown
Result: No gunfire, possible also tools.
Expected result: Shooting my gun
Reproduction rate: 1 in 3 matches?

Type of Bug: Gameplay
Description: When having Bomb Squad as augment, the red markers do not disappear after sticky bombs exploded.
You can see the red markers through walls as well. I’m fairly certain they disappear upon death. I don’t think this happens with other abilities.

Steps to reproduce: Explode a sticky bomb while having the Bomb Squad augment.
Result: Red markers everywhere.

Type of Bug: Matchmaking
Description: 1 : “matchmaking failed” / 2 : “You are prevented from matchmaking for failing to accept a match request until XX” / 3 : I indeed clicked accept when mm found me a game, I didnt “fail to accept”, the mm failed ^^
Video / Screenshot: nope, sorry, will do that next time
Steps to reproduce: Nothing out of the ordinary, started a party, lanched MM, then bug appeared
Result: Couldnt play MM for 3 minutes (I know its not big, but it shouldnt be broken at all in the first place)
Expected result: To play my match

EDIT : I would say 3/10 because it happened 2 times in more or less 25-30 games in ranked (preseason included) — edit, happened 2 times today, the bug and “minor penalty” appears more often after a long search (like more than 5 minutes) then it fails to connect me to the server, I get the “matchmaking failed” message then I have a minor penalty and cant rejoin for 3 m to 5 minutes, as klep said, the perfect waiting simulator ^^

  2. Gun randomly starts to fire ba himself and doesnt stop. Switching to sindearm fires one shot, then sooting stops. switching back to primary the gun instantly starts to fire on its own again. after death and respawn bug may or may not continue.
  3. dont have any pic or vids
  4. cant reproduce. bug seems to accur randomly.

Type of Bug: Main menu
Description: Daily Play rewards no longer updated in Quick Join menu

(all three modes showing as not yet played today even though I somehow got my Daily Win reward…)
Steps to reproduce: After playing a match and receiving your Daily Play reward for one of the game mode, check the Quick Join menu
Result: Corresponding Daily Play reward still showing as not received
Expected result: Corresponding box should contain a check mark
Reproduction rate: 10/10

Speaking of the info about the daily rewards, this should be available elsewhere than in the Quick Join menu only, it’s counter-intuitive for users of the server browser to have to go there to get the info.

Description: When (longer?) tabbed out of the game, the missions do not refill.

Steps to reproduce: Complete all missions. Tab out of the game and wait for the refill tick (In my case 6mins). Tab back in and see no missions refilled
Result: No missions available. Restarting the game did not change it.
Expected result: Able to play new set of missions.
Reproduction rate: Noticed 1 out of 1 times.

Cant “call vote surrender” after a team member quit due to attrocious matchmaking (oh yeah, it still happens sometime, two duo abusing the same map to have a chance to get together and be well, 4 Vs solo, I even read / saw two duos speaking on the same TS while they were enemies, and giving hints for the enemy team, they dont care if they lose one game from time to time as the other duo will pay the favor back), I really really try hard to love your game SD… Now I left with a penalty because well, I wont stay idle in my spawn for 15 minutes will I?

Oh yeah, sorry bout the rant…

Well the bug is that I couldnt call a surrending vote, dont know why, dont know how to reproduce, the option simply wasnt there.

Description: Smoke is being wrongly displayed.
I’m fairly certain this occurs after the update, never had it happen before.
It occured one time.
