my ideas for an needed " Competition Mode " for this game:

5vs5 stopwatch mode only

auto healthreg off

friendlyfire on

friendly player collision

only audio but no visible enemy marking by heartbeatsensor

only 1 heavy class per team

raise HS damage a bit

nerf BS damage a bit

only medic can revive, only engineer can plant/defuse

not showing opponent merc selection

maybe, no ammo stacks

will not happen. For SD Vanilla = comp.

Does not mean that this is automatically a bad thing if the game is fine in the end.
And full friendly fire is not a good idea with those maps… maybe enable FF for all kinds of explosives, mines, turrets, grenades,etc, but “bullet friendly fire” wont work with the maps.

I think it’s more that if vanilla != comp then they did something wrong and it should be fixed.

In ETQW, I was glad not to be playing with promod comp settings on public 24 player servers.

just about the player format.

12v12 worked really well in casual. Can’t expect a serious 12v12 FPS comp title in quite a while.

Indeed. Competition’s already ≠ public. It wasn’t in past SD games and, if they remain committed to user generated content, the community can build on top of whatever competition mod/mode SD may or may not make, again.

I think even ET had a reduced FF bullet damage on certain servers so maybe go with that idea for pubs at least.
