Yesterday the game worked fine and today this started:

While I haven’t changed anything in the game/system. What’s the fix?

Im having the same problem but i cannot find the Shooter folder nor can i find any files with the extention you mentioned… I downloaded it a while ago and its never worked.

edit: first verify files through Steam

how do i reinstall as admin, i checked the files already. Im not really sure how to install a game as administrator through steam

This folder exists: C:\Users&lt;YOUR USER NAME>\AppData\Roaming

But this folder doesn’t: C:\Users&lt;YOUR USER NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Shooter

If so then it’s not the same issue, what does your log file say, maybe create a new thread.

Why should it be the same problem, you have completely different error messages and the profile causing his error doesn’t exist on your system.

Have you tried increasing your pagefile size?

Although to be honest you don’t even meet the minimum specs, even if you can get it running it won’t be playable.

It looks like the answer to your problem is in your log file:

When MSVCR90.dll is missing, it’s usually an indication that Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package has not been installed or needs re installing - https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=29

Not in my case. I already had it installed. Downloaded from your link and clicked repair - still the same error. Uninstalled, reinstalled and restarted PC - still the same error.

And as I mentioned in OP, I haven’t changed anything in my system before the game stopped working. The only things I did were:

  1. I played DB, then closed it.
  2. I didn’t use anything but browser(s), FileZilla and Notepad++.
  3. I put the PC to sleep.
  4. On the next day I woke it up and tried to launch DB - Steam update was installed successfully (the only suspicious activity, I think), but DB couldn’t be launched.

Also, it may be interesting that the game didn’t crash yesterday during the maintenance time - it ran until the error with Nexon forum link and Exit button has been shown.

A couple more things to check:

-Verify Cache on Steam
-Check that your Firewall is not blocking the newly downloaded content

Do you mean the “file integrity” check when right clicking DB in Steam or something else? I ran it few times and sometimes it reported that 1 file failed verification and will be redownloaded. I tested again now - same thing. 1 file was reported and redownloaded -> I ran verification again and no problems were reported -> however, DB still crashes with the same error.

Yes sorry I meant the “file integrity” check in Steam, Interesting you’re getting “1 failed failed to validate” some other players have reported having that and it turned out their antivirus was placing the downloaded file in “the vault” so each time Steam downloaded it the AV would remove it, I wonder if you might be hitting that issue too.

Could you upload a new log just incase the crash has changed since you verified the content please?

Wouldn’t wonder if it crashes because the key can’t be validated or something like that, maybe it was removed from a database or wherever you/Nexon store that. But there’s no way for me to test that while having only that key…

EDIT: unless I can validate the key somewhere? Is there any way?

The issue linked is from May 2014 where we would have been using the Nexon Launcher, I really don’t think this issue is related to your key.

I think the issue is most likely to do with your Windows Redistributables, have you tried installing more recent Windows Redists like 2010/2012?

You can check what redists you have installed through Control Panel - Programs and Features
