QMM lua support plugin

(system) #1

It would be nice to see a plugin that runs on qmm to allow lua scripts to be loaded in ET.

Many mods have lua but not all.
Jaymod for example would be nice with lua support as its used by some populer clans.
The only way to include the lua is through qmm I presume.

Being able to add lua to a jaymod server would be lovely.
Also ETJump would have some nice effects and features by adding lua.

Anyone willing to give it a go?

Lua in ETJump? Useless.
Jaymod? Man, let this mod die finally.

Arh really? I know its been a while but jaymod still has its player base!

This plugin Idea would put it back in the spot light :stuck_out_tongue:

+1. There’s a reason I didn’t add support for it.

There’s a new mod called Jamod which could replace Jaymod I think?

Maybe, i don’t know, Jaymod has some pretty strong features which are closed source still. If Jaybird could manage to bring up some kind of (reduced) open source project it would be so much of a benefit for ET community, especially the hitbox handling would be something. I think the other thing was the throwing knife. Sure i missed something, but Jaybird himself knows best what made Jaymod so great. Maybe also lots of the admin features …

you can do a lot of admin stuff with lua, Go73nks had some cool stuff with his mod

In it’s days back when jaymod 2.1.7 was popular it was known for:

  1. Server able to handle 64 players without any super lag issues.
  2. Bigger hitbox and good anti lag.
  3. Good integration with omni bots + less memory foot prints.
  4. Good admin features. (silEnT and nitmod) both have good admin mod features.
  5. Shotgun - Yeah NQ had it but I still love the jaymod shot guns.
  6. People used poison smoke mines like anything… Well they liked it.

Yeah, exact reasons why Jaymod used to be awesome. It used way less net bandwidth.
