Map Preference Poll - v41588

(Smooth) #1

With the latest release and you having had a chance to play, we’d like to know which of the recent live maps are your favourites to play

(spookify) #2

#1) You can vote more then once huh?

#2) Are you talking in general? (OR) SW? or OBJ? Because the maps play different.

Underground
OBJ Mode - Cluster!!! Can go both ways depending on Team Stacking.
SW - Awful First Objective. No progression.

Dome
OBJ Mode - Best Map for OBJ mode. Its the biggest and has OBJ style time progression that seems to work even though I dont like it.
SW - Long… Progression is muh… Wallz already blown! I like the crain side Obj. Blow either or rader muh? Last Obj is long.

Trainyard
OBJ Mode - Cluster last stage. Progression is hard with the spawn times. Defense very much in favor!!!
SW - Defense still in favor and “very easy” to spawn camp. Second OBJ muhhh… Last Obj dumb…

Terminal
OBJ Mode - Cluster!!! Find it very hard to make people in OBJ mode play the OBJ on this map. Huge TDM feel. Spawn very close and easy to guard. Last stage is Defense friendly. Mines, spam, turrets… Again all depends on team stacking but Defense should hold it.
SW - Stage one and two feel good in SW. If you can get in with a good team you can get some epic spawn kills! Very FUN!!!

Whitechapel
OBJ Mode - CLUSTER! 3 Stokers on Defense and first stage never gets done. Also if the defense has 1 good shooter, a stoker, a really good sniper and a medic its a GG… That offense isnt going anywhere.
SW - I have seen things go both ways. First stage as fragger I can hold them in spawn almost on my own. I can also middle level spawn hold them in spawn also as fragger. Spawn camping again feels very RIGHT! and is very fun!!!

SW mode has such a better feel then OBJ mode. It feels more organized, skillful, comp like and satisfying.
I still think OBJ mode needs to be more of a balanced game mode like BF has or a COD type mode like Hard Point or a combination of all of them.

***Other Testers please also give feedback with the different modes in mind. The maps play sooo much different.

My Votes:
SW = Terminal & Whitechapel (Train - First Stage Defending is Fun but the Obj Blows)
OBJ = DOME

Agree with Spookify, the maps play very differently in SW compared to OBJ so I don’t feel comfortable voting since it might end up giving you folks results that are hard to read.

(Glottis-3D) #4

very easy for me, since i dont play OBJ =)))

(tokamak) #5

So we’ve reached the consensus that Bridge isn’t worth mentioning any longer.

(Njsfirth) #6

Bridge isn’t on a public rotation, so hard for everyone to judge the map fairly.

(Smooth) #7

What Nfjfjththth said.

(Njsfirth) #8

Call me Enef or NJ

(Smooth) #9

Okay, deal :stuck_out_tongue:

(tokamak) #10

Does that mean Bridge is currently being worked on or does it mean you want more feedback on the other maps?

(INF3RN0) #11

If Dome had forward spawns, a proper doc run layout, and you had to blow both of the containers- it would be my favorite.

(Glottis-3D) #12

it will!
sometimes i can see the futur.

tbh, I think if you would play SW 8vs8 the experience will be very similar to OBJ 8vs8, saying its not really the game mode which matters but the team sizes (though from the game modes themselves I prefer SW because its much nicer to get a chance on both sides). Now from the maps in the current beta I like Dome and Terminal the most, I’ve had a lot of fun on both maps. Dome feels great, even with the second objective requiring just the destruction of one instead of both containers. I’ve written more feedback about the map in the Dome feedback thread. Terminal is a lot of fun, though the first stage sometimes turns into spawnrape for the attackers (I’ve once had a double full hold on the first stage). Once the tunnel pump is blown its very easy for defenders to keep the attackers at bay.

From the other maps, I dislike Underground most, the first objective just becomes a spamfest (especially when playing 8vs8) and the second objective (final objective, I don’t count “taking over the tunnels” as an objective) is usually pretty easy for attackers because building things like the side barriers is super easy while destroying it takes a lot of time. The map could profit from another exit for defenders, but tbh I think it needs another objective to be enjoyable. Maybe make the explosives in the final stage open up a pit from which an objective has to be stolen, an objective run through the underground seems interesting. Trainyard seems okay, the last stage seems a bit hard for attackers. Same counts for Chapel I guess (last stage is hard for attackers), though during the ESV escort the attackers should get a spawn in front of the chapel when the ESV is almost at the end. When the ESV gets broken in the last few meters attackers are often chanceless because defenders spawn right behind it.

Why did you take Bridge out of rotation but not give us some new goodie to play with? :frowning:

(spookify) #14

Whats happening to fan favorite Underground???

SW is awesome because of the timing, waves and obj feel. Man I love spawn killing!

(Glottis-3D) #15

its still in the top5!!!

(Seanza) #16
  • rep for you. Laughed out hard!

edit: You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Glottis-3D again. :frowning:

(BomBaKlaK) #17

Mouhahahahahahahahahaha !

(BioSnark) #18

Dome, because it feels like there’s player agency in choosing what routes to run or locations/objectives to defend and parts of it feel like an arcade shooter map in terms of verticality.

Underground is the worst of the “choose between 2 meat grinders” maps.

Please, consider moving the defender spawn on Trainyard final objective to across the canal from transmit so it’s at a proper “T” intersection with the attack route like in your other games, where that objective type didn’t require obliterating the defending team and camping their spawn.

(gangstarN) #19

Where is london bridge map? or what the name was
