“the best graphic possible for the original game, with HD texture for some weapons and enemies”

I don’t get that part. It’s like HDET, pushing the textures beyond what the engine can render, efforts wasted, or moving to ioRtCW/Berserker@Wolfenstein…

I understand your point. I’ve only seen screenshots of the ioRtCW engine, but it looks promising. The Quake 3 Arena engine is now outdated, so hopefully the new engine will be successful.

Look for a comparison of the original Quake 3 engine (id Tech 3) and ioQuake 3 — it’s amazing how it evolved.

The work on ioRtCW looks as promising as Berserker@WolfSP (not in terms of graphic abilities, but in term of functions, features).

Whatever, when ioRtCW and Berserker@WolfSP will be released under their respective final versions, we should try to “merge” these, in order to make the ultimate Return to Castle Wolfenstein engine possible. This is the future of the game, and if it would be possible, I would be working on that. That’s just my point of view however. Let’s say it’s just an idea…

ioRtCW is going to have its own alternative rendering engine.

You can enable it with RtCW Co-Op for instance (cl_renderer rend2)

(ronboy) #8

I always thought that ioRtCW and Berserker@WolfSP were the same engine, but apparently that’s not true. I agree with your idea about merging the two engines, Titeuf. Anything that means better organization for the community is a great idea.
