the triangles or vertiges count?

After reading this I would say vertiges:

3 vertices = A triangle, perhaps this answer your question? Reduce the vertices, you’ll reduce the amount of triangles.

Yea but you see Mateos, on one of the models I should polychop it a bit and there where less triangles and more vertiges than before^^

Maybe there are duplicated vertices, I remember there’s an AA Gun model which is more optimized than the one present in the game files, maybe by ischbinz
