Broken ETPub-based mods

Good evening,

I have a recurrent problem on the few times I’ve been able to play these last months (like, 4 times since January); there’s two scenarios:

  • The game directly crashes while loading the mod with “couldn’t reopen <insert pakX.pk3 or main mod file>”
  • The mods loads, I can play a map or two, when then during a loading, the same error.

Removing the mod folder and redownloading all the files doesn’t fix the issue, which happens only with ETPub and related mods (silEnT, …).

Any idea what is causing this?

Probably to many pk3’s in etmain.

Hm k, both shouldn’t make any troubles.

Well anyway you might still checkout this folder:
C:\Users&lt;username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore…

To many versions around - I am just not sure if it is the case or not, but maybe some of your personal files ended up there, instead of being loaded from where you installed the game.

Also all my installs are out of Program Files;

There’s nothing ET-related in that VirtualStore folder :confused:

Ok - well I don’t know :), all which counts is that it works now.
Not sure under which circumstances windows populates the VirtualStore… probably ET has to be in Program Files for it… don’t know anymore.

If it has something to do with the virtualization, I have disabled it in the BIOS because TZAC doesn’t like it :slight_smile:

Ages I haven’t played a match because of studies, so I dunno if it is still used or not.

tzac do not exist anymore. ppls use CGAC now but its useless for public gaming/servers

In other words: too many pk3s in etmain directory.
