ya this game is fkked, srry devs but all the hard work you put into this game, nexon is just going to make this game a crap shoot. i really wanted to try this game and i will but nexon is going to make so many ppl hate it. shame it sounded like such a great game.
ya so.. Nexon is running this game....
for all the hate about Nexon, Valve/Steam is using them to publish and distribute DOTA 2 in Japan and Korea, couldn’t be that bad
The fact some known company makes business with some other means simply nothing here. As you wander across the Internet, you shall find out, and at ease too, that many well known enterprises cooperate with companies hiring children and/or expose workers to enormous amounts of toxins, literally bathing them in it… Not to mention work conditions dating from the beginnings of capitalism(btw it’s funny ppl attribute it to capitalism as a flaw while they forget ppl had perfect choice(“oh that is not a choice unless you have heaven vs hell!” - descend back to Earth pls), these were just terrible times for human kind and so was the remedy! But it’s better to get the remedy, even painful, than to die… but! Children at “work” is bad! Let us put them into “school” instead :P. Kind of non-payed public works… They are safe there! Sure, that is but a perfect environment for spreading not only common deceases but also for things like alcoholism and other addictions, furthermore studies had shown it’s simply counter-productive socially, which is especially funny since ppl belie… ****, about Nexon again…
There is no legit distinction for “bad” and “good” companies. You can define as many rules of it as you please(with a wide range of output for the same company) - so why don’t you, instead of wondering what Nexon is, simply ask SD what are the conditions? What can and what cannot Nexon do? How is servers performance assured? What are the settlements for each element that’s important to you?
I believe that was already said Nexon will have nothing to do with the content, maybe I missed something or it’s going to be rearranged… but since it’s so important for the community - if I were SD I would instantly prepare some clear and all-embracing info on the subject, that would fix the problem right away, with a little margin of “It’s all lies!” for which there is no cure anyway… and which is but too often right too, as far as history can tell, but shhh! Let us have a clear statement and abandon the “Oh no! Nexon!” thread class forever.
Splash Damage have full creative control of this game. That means Nexon aren’t touching the gameplay with a barge pole. Rest easy.
“the game” isnt just the gameplay and also about the system around it. it can be the greatest game ever, you add 1 “Pay4advantage” and the game is gone.
sorry for ingrish

Pricing is included in the creative control. Splash Damage have the final say on everything.

There is never balance and tell me - what’s the real difference between bought skill and an inborn or learned one? Especially the latter. Where you took the arbitrary idea only inborn and learned are good advantages and the bought one is immensely wrong? I tell you what - it’s relative.
And while from your point of view the game is clearly pay to win - since you buy class access, and therefore you pay for an advantage of flexibility… assuming all the locked classes introduce anything fresh into the game, which is expected… and confirmed by SD. Not just fancy outfits! And off course - as in many pay to win games - you can obtain the same thing over time without paying!
While… because I didn’t finish the sentence - I on the contrary believe it’s not pay to win, because it’s all without objective sense, and therefore why not?
In other words - why not just wait for the game, judge if it’s fun and if so - play else uninstall. Who cares if it’s pay to win, it is off course but it’s so just slightly and we live in somewhat imperfect world of compromises, don’t we? Furthermore - I believe it’s better to hope for what’s possible and not be disappointed, so I advice you thus: Don’t get your hopes up and give piece a chance! Maybe it will be fun anyway. And what is more - there will always be cheaters to be found around, there will never be an anti-cheat capable of catching them down and however there is a good tool to sort them out, I cannot point you where somebody implemented it right - since there is collision of ideas: balance and “play with friend” - which ruins it in matchmaking… that’s the solution I meant btw.
Hopefully then the XT will run at all! And btw it’s free, how can you expect something in exchange for nothing? It does not feel right, you know?
Have a good night, and may ET2 come to us one day! Hopefully a bit before apocalypse or WW the third… Or maybe it just wants some new material…
“that many well known enterprises cooperate with companies hiring children and/or expose workers to enormous amounts of toxins, literally bathing them in it.”
WTF; yah we know, Apple makes iphones in China where they use children in toxic clouds, but we’re not talking about child slave labour, we’re talking about perception of good and bad, like the perception that most Polish people are spammers due to the hundreds of attacks each month on this site by Polish spammers, they probably aren’t it’s just a couple A-holes, but it’s the perception, get it ?
nexon is actually a very good company and many of their games are very popular for a long time. its just that after a while it seems their priorities change and they are less and less focused on the game and more on the money.
if splash has all the rights of creative control then there should be no problem… i hope
Dear Nail, pray focus. Notice your counter-argument is off target since as you noticed I’m speaking about relativity in the evaluation of the company’ moral side. And since you say the same, your counter-argument for the idea feels misplaced. Don’t get me wrong - I totally approve self-check - it’s good to rethink one’s own postulates, but it’s unnecessary to make such a slalom in a single thread.
Therefore - as we both agree it’s relative, and both point out, that what is important isn’t wheather Nexon is “good” or “bad” given a set of rules and an arbitrary waged-sum function of company goodness or even less a good will of it’s name, but what really matters is what are the conditions of cooperation between SD and Nexon. Are you unsure about that? Have you changed your mind possibly? I ask because you attack the very foundations of the idea’s representation in this thread.
PS: About nations - I’m not going to make allusions towards whole Canada just for your sake, I met some Canadian people and I liked them, beautiful country too. Why might you control your emotions? I mean - it’s not very serious when somebody comes up with irritating allusions towards an interlocutor in general, it’s not what gentleman do. I can although forgive that little outburst of emotions or a misunderstanding due to you young age that always need some polishing, nobody is born perfect, though everyone is free to pursue perfection.
Have a good day.

The vulnerability then would be if Splash Damage lost their direction, Nexon would likely be left unchecked. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
The chance is always there but with the splash damage stance on free to play I don’t ever see the money hungry fail happening that happened to other games that were pay to win right off the bat
There will inevitably be a constant seesaw relationship between Splash Damage’s content updates and Nexon’s event sales. For instance Blacklight Retribution normally gets a major content update every 6 months from Zombie Studios but their publisher Perfect World Entertainment puts out item sales every month. Extraction may be looking at a similar plan but I could be mistaken.
ya but i think it all really just depends on the kind of stuff u can get with real money and events in this game if its not pay to win advantages, so im not sure if they would be able to do something every month like nexon is kinda known for
[B]Splash Damage said they plan to release a new character every month, so now that I think about it, the monthly thing might actually work for both companies.
Also, I need to keep in mind that several of the most longlasting games Nexon has under its wing were developed by Asian game developers, which means delayed updates. The original version of those games would get an update and the US version would get that same update about 1-2 years later since procedures such as language translation take time.
In contrast we then can look at Splash Damage, which is a British development company, and conclude that since English is the main language used in both companies, updates might be processed much faster. Just food for thought.

I won’t pull the wool over your eyes by telling you that I do know Nexon as well as you do, because chances are I probably don’t. However, I do know Splash Damage (probably better than you know Nexon), and when they say they have creative control and the final say, they’re telling the truth.
That’s as may be. But when they see that Extraction isn’t managing to make a profit, creative control or not, things will change.
If they put their prices too high to begin with, people won’t buy them. This means it won’t be making money. If they price it correctly, then it will generate sales.
Nexon’s previous titles have all been focussed on the Asian markets whereas Extraction will be focussed on the western world’s markets. The way the west works is with microtransactions and not the way Nexon is currently running their stuff.

I think that most nexon games sell things slightly over priced and have a small sale every 2 weeks and a big sale every month
Hut that’s a good point about the western market focus, I’m not sure how it will change that
