My opinion is that beyond the type of objective (I pretty much enjoy them all tbh) what’s far more interesting is having several ways of progressing through map stages (or accomplishing a heavy weight goal). Take Fuel Depot for example, at the end there you could dyno the side doors, satchel them and bring an engi or you could have a happy cvops-engi couple going roof top. I’m not talking about feasible / efficient ways of doing it from a clanwar perspective, I’m just pointing them out.
Having a nice pool of sub-objectives along with main objectives (wait for class X to do stuff with object Y, to go to next stage) diversifies the battle hotzones and therefore creates tactical variation. Just having a series of chokes (escort tank then blow door, etc) regardless of how awesome they are, will end up in endless shooting within the objective areas and nothing more.
