The texture issue has been corrected, map now available for play.

Glad the map’s finished. I’m looking forward to seeing what adjustments you’ve made.

Here’s a demo of what I’m talking about.

It’s still very easy to get behind the cottage…and that floating brick is still there. Did you intend for people to get behind the cottage?

Here are some more exploits. It’s still pretty easy to bypass having to backtrack in order to transmit the docs. The following demo shows only two examples of how to do this. In actuality, you can use any of the similarly sloped surfaces to get up high and get around the cottage. All you hafta do is get up there and take a dive!

I inteded for the dive to be possible, as far as the floating block–oops, thanks for the info.

So, you DID intend for people to be able to get behind the cottage, then? The reason I ask is because I noticed that you put a wall to the left of the cottage where I previously had noticed an easy way to slip through. That took care of that exploit, but I just wanted to make sure you knew about the other ones. After all, a map that isn’t played as originally intended can’t be considered a well-designed map. I like this one, though.

By the way, nice job fixing the exploit that prevented anyone from having to blow the destructable door. I tried to find ways around it without any luck. I’ll still keep trying, though. I liked the open-ended nature of the beta you released before. As I mentioned in the other topic, I plan to eventually create a really open-ended map. No engineers required, but definitely optional for teams that would like to make their lives easier.

i can get on top of all mountains without cheating

(kevinski) #8

So can I, and it isn’t even very difficult. However, I’m just taking the time to report a small error regarding the other destructable wall. For some reason, it tends to disappear when viewed from certain angles and distances. I can’t guarantee it’ll show up on your computer, but I’ll post the demo, anyway.

Same here, this map is very easy to beat at the minute. I like the idea so far and some editing of the map for the final version will hopefully correct the problems. But don’t get me wrong, this looks to be a prmising map if a few minor issues are sorted out. Good work!

BEACH FINAL will be released this evening at 11:00 pm CST, thank you all for your input.

Sounds good, looking forward to it.

Can’t wait for the release. Once you’ve fixed the exploits involving the mountains and such, everything should be fine. Wouldn’t want snipers to own this map, would we? By the way, while we’re on the subject of fixes, one of the cottages has a little problem with it. It’s nothing that affects gameplay or anything, but it should be an easy fix, anyway.

Walk around the cottage with the Axis command post inside it. Now, check out the ground around the base of the cottage. It appears as though you’ve got a caulking issue there, if I’m not mistaken. As always, I have a demo of it for you.

By the way, are you planning to submit this to RtCWFiles.com upon completion?

(Cosmos) #14

So is beach officially completed now?
