Invisible Players

After logging into a dedicated server, teammates and enemy players are occasionally invisible. When it’s teammates who are invisible, they can still be located by a floating nametag and a healthbar that’s continually empty (when playing as Medic). The players are invisible only while alive; after they die, a corpse becomes visible. This state persists through multiple levels, and only seems to be affected by leaving a server and rejoining.

I’ve confirmed with other players that this isn’t just local; players are sometimes invisible to a single player, and sometimes invisible to multiple players. It seems to occur more often with people who are on my friend’s list, but that may just be my perception. I have, however, joined a server and discovered that the entire enemy team was invisible, which made for some awfully confusing combat… I thought they were just really good at hiding at first. :slight_smile:

I haven’t figured out any specific steps to replicate, but I’m seeing several occurrences every day so it must not be terribly uncommon.

I’ve run into the same issue a few times over the past couple of days. Occasionally there’s an invisible player (usually on the other team, although once or twice I’ve noticed invisible players on my own team) and it can make for a frustrating experience, being shot to death by somebody you can’t even see. Although I think that goes without saying hahah.

I haven’t been able to notice enough consistent environments where this is happening though, to further pinpoint why. It’s happened on all different maps, sometimes at the start of matches, sometimes in the middle etc.

And to clarify, it’s all types of players. Human and bot alike.

Happening to me to.
When the game start, i hit Tab, to see the players, if y don’t see the other team shown, then i know that on this map they will all be invisible :smiley:
Sometimes is showing only 1 member in the other team, is the only one i see :stuck_out_tongue:
This bug is resetting/gone on the next map. When it hits, i switch to support class and shoot in the direction others are shooting until the body is appearing on the ground, is rather funny :smiley: and hilarious.

Just had it happen again (this time it was the entire bot enemy team), and I noticed some errors in the console of the form “WARNING: entity13idBot (564 159 16) - bodyType is NULL!”. Here’s a screengrab; click for full size.

This happened to me also. Actually happened at the start of a new map. I also saw him disappear just as the match-countdown was done. It looked like he changed team and suicided.

Happens to me as well. :frowning: This plus the corrupted text issue (esp. on the server browser screen) is making the game not much fun to play.

Happend to me today 2 times! :frowning: After mapchange i just saw one enemy player… campaign mode. I reconnect, that helped, but is annoying!

just happened to me too and happend before last patch also
Edit :just a clue could it be related to when there is Spectating in the game ??

had it twice before patch, after latest not once but doubt that fixed it.

Could it be a cheat?

Its a game bug, previous games with the same engine also had that bug, but it really sux when a enemy is invisible you have no chances vs him.

This happens on servers without spect slot too.
