Thinking about converting this into an Unreal 4 Engine Asset. What do you think? Is that even possible?

We been discussing this in relation to the new games BAT44 and Days of War both using the Unreal engine 4 and a couple of mappers have managed to take the ET .map file into UE4 check this out!

Welp, i hope this thread is not burried yet!
Would anyone help me to convert my remagen.map into a model file (.ase or anything else)?
Here is the download to the .map and the .pk3 (enjoy if you just want to play around!)

Wait, is that an official source release of Remagen? That's amazing! Thank you very much.

Regarding your question, there is a nice tutorial on katsbits on how to convert .map to .ase.
If you do not want to use the tool he showed, you can also use a simple .bat file. Create a text file in the same folder as the q3map2.exe compiler (normally in your Radiant installation). Open it up and paste this line:
    Code:
q3map2.exe -convert -format ase -map *your_map_name*.bsp -game wolf
Then close the file, right-click - rename and call it asemodel.bat.

You need to make sure that you have everything inside a caulk box with a player entity. Also it is probably impossible to convert the whole map into one single model. So you most likely need to separate your map into smaller parts.

    Hope this helps
