If you can’t wait you can download this pack form NightWulf another german mapping/coding guy.
http://home.arcor.de/q3advanced/et_editing_pack.zip
There are the new entites corrected/new common-textures and shaders in it.
HP: http://kickme.to/nightwulf

Just extract the E.T textures, change the shaderlist.txt for a new gtkradiant installation and test the stuff in rtcw until the offical tools are ariving.
Add E.T specifics like weather after the offical release.
THis is the same way i did it in q3-radiant with my eye of horus map for rtcw.

Please note that the above is unsupported here and you will need to speak to the relevant people about what works and what does not.

Build your maps, the archi takes a long time for maps of this size, by the time you get close enough to being done, the ET tools will be out, I don’t need a crystal ball to know that.

Sock - can you answer this though…

If we start to go through the process of planning and building in RtCW GtkRadiant, will we be able to take the map file across to the ET GtkRadiant?

As long as you dont start creating wierd and wonderful entities that are specific to RTCW. Brushwork is brushwork and can be moved between engines easily. The issue of textures is something else, but you can always start using the ET textures as a base.
