q3map 2.5.16 for linux

(flower.Hercules) #1

Does anybody have a backup of the file q3map_2.5.16_linux_x86.tar.gz? I Googled it and it doesn’t return anything but dead links, and of course shaderlabs is down. Thanks for any help.

To all interested:

Get the latest version of GTKRadiant (1.5.0) and conver the RPM to a tar.gz and unzip it and just use that version of q3map2, it is the latest 2.5.16! Huray!

I’ve had to search for the tool “rpm2targz”.
Pretty hard to find.
Here’s a download link:
http://downloads.linuxfromscratch.org/rpm2targz.tar.bz2

Unfortunately I can’t install it. :frowning:

Would you mind zipping the Linux version of Q3Map2 and sending them to me?

Thanks.

I would like to.
But I can’t create a targz out of the rpm.
Not sure why I can’t use this tool.
If I try to install it I get:

Either you don’t have the gcc compiler on your system or gcc can’t be found. If gcc is installed, setting the absolute path (something like /usr/bin/gcc) in the install script should work.

Arghh, gcc hasn’t been installed.
After installation it’s still not working.

Edit:

I’m too stupid.
There’s an executable.
I’ve managed to create the “tar.gz”-file.
Not sure what is needed.
There’s a “q3map2.x86” in the archive.
Not sure if this is all.
There’s also a “bspc”-file/executable and a “q2map”-file/executable (amongst others).

The q3maps2.x86 in the converted Radiant V 1.5.0 rpm is only 590 KB big.
The one that ships with Radiant V 1.4.0 is 3.3 MB big.
So it seems that some more files are needed.

I’ve searched all RTCW and W:E related community pages with no success.
If anyone has a working Radiant V 1.4.0 + q3map2 V2.5.16 combination please post a download link for the q3map2 file / additional files.
Or an “how to”.
Thanks.
